Section 1. Appointment of Committees.
(a) The President shall forward to the Minnesota Association of REALTORS® the names of interested REALTOR® Members who are willing to serve on the MNAR Grievance Committee and Professional Standards Committee. Such Members will be subject to the Member Criteria and annual training as required by the Minnesota Association of REALTORS®.
(b) The President-Elect shall appoint, with the advice and consent of the Board of Directors, all standing committee members including chair people. The Board of Directors shall prescribe the powers and duties of each committee. All such appointments shall be for a term of one (1) year, except the following: MLS, which shall be two (2) year appointments. Absence from two (2) consecutive committee meetings without an excuse deemed valid by the chairperson shall be construed as resignation from the committee.
Section 2. Special Committees. The President shall appoint, subject to confirmation by the Board of Directors, such special committees as they may deem necessary.
(a) Advisory Committee. The President may appoint, with the approval of the Board of Directors, an Advisory Committee comprised of past presidents of the Association who have continued to be Members of the Association and are in good standing. The Committees duties shall be to advise the Officers and Directors whenever occasion shall arise. The Immediate Past President of the Association shall serve as chairperson. The Advisory Committee may hold meetings at any time on the call of its chair or the President of the Association.
(b) Affiliate Member Advisory Committee. The President may appoint with the approval of the Board of Directors an Affiliate Member Advisory Committee to be chaired by the duly elected Affiliate Member to of the Board of Directors. The duties of the committee shall be to plan the activities of the Affiliate Members and the Institute Affiliate Members for the coming year.
Section 3. Organization. All committees shall be of such size and shall have such duties, functions and powers as assigned by the President or the Board of Directors, except as otherwise provided in these Bylaws.
Section 4. President. The President shall be an ex-officio Member of all Committees and shall be notified of their meetings.
Section 5. Committee Business. A quorum for the transaction of committee business shall be one-third (1/3) of the Committee members.
